A behind-the-scenes look at how Radio Tribe approached the production of The FiNe Baking Company promotional video.

When Radio Tribe Productions began work on the promotional video for The FiNe Baking Company, the goal was not simply to capture beautiful desserts. The real challenge was finding the right balance between product imagery, personal story, and the everyday rhythm of a working bakery.

The production was designed around a small-footprint approach. Rather than overwhelming the space with a large crew or complicated setup, we focused on staying nimble and observant. That allowed us to capture details that felt natural: finished cakes, decorated cupcakes, cookies, display cases, and the small movements that reveal the care behind the work.

The interview with founder Chely Smithgall served as the backbone of the piece. From there, the visual coverage was planned to support her story rather than compete with it. Each shot needed to do more than show food. It needed to help communicate craft, personality, and the feeling of a local business built through focus and persistence.

In postproduction, the edit was shaped around warmth, pacing, and clarity. The goal was to let the piece feel polished without making it feel overly manufactured. Product shots, interview moments, and observational details were woven together to create a short profile that felt personal and inviting.

Projects like this are a good reminder that small business video is still storytelling. A promotional piece works best when it gives viewers more than a list of services or products. It should help them understand who they are supporting, what makes the work specific, and why the story behind the business matters.
